William T. Porter
William T. Porter, 84, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Porter was born in 1934 in Washington, D.C., the son of the late Willis E. Porter and the late Mayme Lee Porter Timmins. He was a plumber for J. C. Fluid in Washington, D.C. and Campbell Refrigeration in Winchester, Virginia. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army where he served during the Korean Conflict. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He was an avid Redskins and Nationals fan. Most of all, Bill loved spending time with his family.
Bill married Freda Evelyn Frankenberry on August 14, 1982 in Winchester, Virginia. She preceded him in death in 2011.
Bill is survived by a daughter, Carol Porter Fishel (John) of Winchester, Virginia; five grandchildren, Christopher R. Fishel, Coleton A. Stotler, Carley R. Stotler, Michael W. Fishel, and Ava M. Fishel; and nephews, William T. Porter, John A. Porter, and Anthony Hankins.
In addition to his parents and wife, Freda, Bill is preceded in death by his former wives, Eleanor Jean Thompson Porter and Carol Louise Rush-Porter; step father, Sarge Timmins; sisters, Faye Porter and Gloria Jean Utech; and brothers, Eddie and John A. Porter.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 15th from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Omps, South Chapel with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am with Pastor Alan Morrison officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.
