William C. Mergler, 80, of Winchester, VA, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center.

Bill was born in 1943 in Washington D.C., the son of the late William W. Mergler and Mildred (White) Coleman. He was a graduate of Washington and Lee High School in Arlington, VA. Bill retired from customer service for Washington Gas and Light Company. He was a member of the Winchester Country Club.

Bill married Linda “Sue” Underwood and they were married for 57 years until her passing in January of 2024.

He is survived by his sons, William “Bill” Mergler, Jr., Scott Mergler; grandchildren, A.J. Mergler, Allie Mergler; great-grandson, Quentin Murray and sister, Dee Bild.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, stepfather, Edward Coleman; grandsons, Jonothan Douglas Murray, Sean Douglas Murray and brothers, Donald and Robert Mergler.

Services for Bill will be private.
