William “Bill” Lawrence Firesheets, Sr., 77, of Clear Brook, Virginia, died Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Firesheets was born in 1940, in Virginia, the son of the late Lydia Florence and Clarence Warner Firesheets. He was a graduate of Glen Burnie High School, Class of 1958. Mr. Firesheets was a Journeyman Millwright with Federal Mogul retiring after 28 years of service in 1977. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pasadena, Maryland. Mr. Firesheets was a union member of the United Auto Workers as well as a member of Plane Crazy R/C Club in Winchester.
Mr. Firesheets was a man of few words, a no-nonsense kind of man. He enjoyed canoeing, skiing, fishing and white water rafting, especially on the New River and South Branch of the Potomac River. He loved his classic Impala Convertible and was a Master Mechanic who could fix anything.
He married Patricia Firesheets on October 27, 1961, in Maryland.
Surviving with his wife of 56 years are his daughter, Jennifer Lee Firesheets of Clear Brook; son, William Lawrence Firesheets, Jr. of Bushnell, Florida; grandchildren, Holly Nicole Firesheets of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Jacob William Firesheets of Elkton, Maryland.
Mr. Firesheets is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Reeves Firesheets.
All services will be private.
