William J. Ronis, 91 of Stephens City, VA, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Evergreen Health & Rehab.
Bill was born in Brockton, MA, in 1932, the son of the late John and Bessie Ronis. After graduating high school, Bill went on to Northeastern University in MA where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He went on to retire from Digital Equipment Corporation as an electrical engineer. Bill was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester where he was an usher and would help with the weekly collection basket. He enjoyed sports, especially watching and playing golf and watching the NFL games. Bill was known for never turning down his favorite treat, ice cream. Most of all Bill loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He married Mary Patricia in February of 1954 in Brockton, MA, she preceded him in death on May 25, 2021.
Bill is survived by his sons, William J. Ronis, Jr. (Brec), James M. Ronis (Catherine), John E. Ronis (Laura); grandchildren, Patrick Scott Meehan, Christopher Meehan, James Meehan, William Mohr, Katie Ronis, William Ronis, Thomas Ronis, Jack Ronis, Catherine Ronis and Luke Ronis; son-in-law, Robert Mohr and many loving great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife; daughter, Deborah Ann Mohr; sisters, Rita Burgess and Demetra Grudinskas and brother Christopher Ronis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Bill on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
