William H. Dillon
William Henry Dillon, 83, of Winchester, Virginia, died Thursday, September 8, 2011, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Dillon was born in 1928, in Portland, Maine, the son of the late Thomas P. and Elizabeth Dillon. Following graduation from Boston College in 1952, Mr. Dillon was employed by the Central Intelligence Agency as an Intelligence Officer for 35 years. Mr. Dillon served as an Air Force Civilian, attached to the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence until his retirement in 2003. He was awarded the Career Intelligence Medal by the CIA.
Mr. Dillon was a lifelong Red Sox fan and enjoyed the game of golf. He loved spending time with his family, friends and dogs, “Barney” and “Wolfie”.
He married Lucia Helm Collins on October 2, 1982 in Annandale, Virginia.
His first wife, Jane Cosart Dillon, preceded him in death in 1980.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Michael Dillon of Centreville, Virginia, Thomas Dillon of Franklin, Tennessee; three step-daughters, Katherine Munk of Erie, Colorado, Lee Bowen Horton of West Springfield, Virginia, Anne Southwick Jonkers of Midlothian, Virginia; one grandchild and eight step-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend Dr. Richard Reifsnyder officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
