William Elwood Clark (Woody) went home to be with the Lord on January 31, 2025, at the age of 58, in Winchester, VA, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born on June 19, 1966, in Winchester VA, he was the son of Albert Jr. and Shirley Clark.
Woody dedicated 35 years of his life to serving his country, including deployments in Desert Storm and the Iraq War. His commitment and sacrifice will be forever remembered. A 1986 graduate of Handley High School, where he lettered in football and wrestling. Woody demonstrated his passion and dedication early in life.
Beyond his military service, Woody found joy in the outdoors, pursuing his love of hunting and fishing. He was also an avid fan of dirt track racing and enjoyed the camaraderie of bowling. His greatest passion, however, was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his family. Woody was also a dedicated member of the Winchester Eagles Aerie 824 for 21 years, where he served as President for three terms.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 25 years, Angela Clark; his children, Montana Clark and PM Raigner; his parents, Shirley and Albert Clark Jr.; his siblings, Randy Clark (April), Frankie Clark (Angie), and Wendy (Daniell) Shull; his step¬children, Crystal (Aaron) Throckmorton, Jonathan (Shannon) Ellis, and Jarett (Katie) Jacobsen; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A gathering of friends and family will be held to celebrate Woody’s life on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a service the following day, Monday, February 10, 2025, at 11a.m. all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery. A reception will be held following the services at the Eagles Aerie 824. Jarrett Jacobsen and Chaplain Johnson will be officiating.
