William Edward Wright, III, age 70, of Winchester, VA, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, in the Winchester Medical Center.
Bill was born in 1942, in Richmond, VA, the son of the late Albert P. and Helen H. Wright. He had a Hardee’s franchise and retired in 2012 from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Department. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the Winchester Exchange Club, the F.O.P. Lodge, a volunteer for the Commonwealth of VA Dept of Game and Inland Fishers. Bill served as Advisor of the Explorer Post 152 of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office. He also was past treasurer of administrative board of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Bill married Sharon Grimm Unger on October 17, 1978, in Frederick County, VA.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Susan Stack (Jerry) of Cedar Rapids, IA; a son, Rik Wright (Emily) of Seattle, WA, son/step-son Donnie Unger (Julia) of Winchester, VA, daughter-in-law Trish Putnum of Winchester, VA; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joseph, and Faith Unger, and Katie, Kelly, Jacob and Jeff Stack; one great-grandson, Carter and one brother, Bert Wright (Linda) of Aylett, VA., and many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, from 6:00-8:00 Pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel and Friday, prior to the serviced, from 1:00-2:00 pm, at Wesley United Methodist Church.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, at Wesley United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Mayton officiating. Entombment will be at Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
