William “Bill” McKay
William “Bill” McKay, 58, of Lutz, Florida, formerly of Winchester, Virginia, lost his courageous battle to cancer, with his daughter by his side, on Thursday, February 2, 2012, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Lutz, Florida.
Mr. McKay was born in 1954, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late William Buck McKay and Mary Edith Jones. Bill was a graduate of James Wood High School. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Navy. Bill recently moved to Florida to spend time with his daughter, April Maxine Roberts, her husband, Matthew Derek and 2 year old grandson, Brayden Matthew, who lovingly referred to him as “Pop”.
Bill leaves behind several brothers, a sister, cousins, and a community full of friends.
A Celebration of life will be held from 3:00-5:00 PM on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 13, 2012, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with a pot-luck reception to follow at the Stephens City Fire Hall, 5346 Mulberry Street, Stephens City, Virginia, 22655.
