Willa I. Parks
Willa Ione Parks, age 89, of Winchester, VA, died Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Westminster Canterbury. Mrs. Parks was born in 1923 in Moscow, Idaho, the daughter of the late John Riley and Nina Hill. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Braddock Street United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of the University of Idaho. She belonged to the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) and was an active volunteer for the Lights of Love Program at Winchester Medical Center. She was a member and volunteer of the Winchester Medical Center Auxiliary, and a member of Delta, Delta, Delta Sorority.
She married Keith Walker Parks in 1943 in King City, CA. Mr. Parks preceded her in death in 1998.
Surviving is her daughter, Nancy Egger and husband, Kenneth of Fairfax Station, VA; sons, Steven G. Parks and wife, Lisa of Gambrills, MD and Dr. David W. Parks and wife, Jenny of Wenatchee, WA; grandchildren Stacy Parks Berver and husband, Daryl of Elkridge, MD, Jen Parks Plack and husband, Philip of Annapolis, MD, Christopher Parks and wife, Stephanie of Arnold, MD, Julie Egger Kennedy and husband, Benjamin of Alexandria, VA, Katherine Egger Makris and husband, Michael of Washington, DC, Kieren Parks and Mitchell Parks, both of Wenatchee, WA, and Kayla Parks of Gambrills, MD; great grandchildren Steven and Jackson Parks of Elkridge, MD and Samuel and Evelyn Kennedy of Alexandria, VA.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Margaret Carter, Mildred Hill, Rita Williams, Edward Hill, Wynne Hill, Wayne Hill, and Lyle Hill. She was the last surviving member of the eight children.
