Wilda V. Heishman
Wilda Violetta Himelwright Heishman, 84, of Stephenson, Virginia, died Sunday, October 27, 2013, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Heishman was born in 1929, in Capon Springs, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Branson Olman and Mabel May Himelwright. She was a nurse with Winchester Medical Center having served for over 40 years. Mrs. Heishman, along with her husband, were members of many civic organizations in the Winchester community. Wilda was a nurse for the migrant apple pickers in the Winchester area, as well as a volunteer with the American Red Cross. In 1997 she received the “Book of Golden Deeds” awarded by the Winchester Exchange Club. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winchester.
Surviving are two daughters, Katherine Annette Patterson of Stephens City, Virginia, Deborah Kay Retalic of Ute, Iowa; son, James “JB” Branson Heishman and wife, Terri, of Charlotte, North Carolina; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
One daughter, JoAnne Heishman and her sister, Thelma Ernestine Malone, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Martha Miller-Sims officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.
