Wilbert “Butch” Taylor
Wilbert “Butch” Taylor, 69, of Stephens City, Virginia, passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 15, 2012, in Stephens City, Virginia.
Mr. Taylor was born on 1942, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Charles W. Sr.and Isabelle Pearl Taylor. Butch was employed as a loader operator at Zuckerman & Company for more than 39 years. Butch was a member of The Mountain View Church of Christ. Butch was an avid hunter and fisherman, a great fan of Sherando High School football and the girls softball teams. Butch was a member of the Winchester Eagles Club #824 and The Bass Masters Association of Virginia. Butch enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and the great outdoors.
Mr. Taylor married Margel L. Kline on June 27, 1962, in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Barbara J. Mason and Companion, John, of Stephens City, Virginia; Julia L. Miles and husband, Michael, of Stephens City, Virginia; two sons, Charles A. “Butchie” Taylor and wife, Angie, of Winchester, Virginia, and Michael T. “Spanky” Taylor and wife, Tabitha, of Stephens City, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Michael Mason, Jr., Zachary Mason, Hunter Taylor, Hayden Miles, Lacie Taylor, Haley Miles, Chaz Taylor and Ashley Taylor and one great grandchild, Kaiden S. Mason. He is also survived by four sisters, Nancy Nesselrodt and Rolleen Hartman, both of Winchester, Virginia, Barbara Corbin, of Stephenson, Virginia, Connie Baker, of Winchester, Virginia; two half sisters, Penny A. Balling, of Fairfax, Virginia, and Jeanie Taylor of Winchester, Virginia; three brothers, Charles Taylor, Jr., of Stafford, Virginia, William O. Taylor, of Winchester, Virginia, and a half-brother, Scott Taylor.
He was preceded in death by a sister Bonnie Coffelt, and a brother, Kenneth Taylor and half brother Terry Taylor.
Pallbearers will be his five grandsons and nephew, Charles Heishman.
A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Evangelist Doug Hardman and Evangelist Chris Straley officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
