Wayne Martin Highness, 64, of Gore, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Wayne was born in 1962 in Minnesota, the son of the late Curt Stanley Highness and Darlene Highness. He was a high school graduate who went on to earn his master’s degree. He worked as a truck driver in the transportation industry. Wayne enjoyed gold panning, camping, gardening, daily walks with his Alaskan Malamute, and spending time on his son’s farm. Above all else, he treasured his family.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Denise Reneé (Anderson) Highness; daughter, Alisa Marie Highness-Akey (Jason) of Winchester, VA; son, Cedric Highness (Molly) of Gore, VA; grandchildren, Evalyn Esther Rose Akey of Winchester, VA, and Malcolm Akey of Greeley, CO; sister, Connie Peterson (Matt) of Duluth, MN; and brother, Bruce Highness of Thief River Falls, MN.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law.
