Virginia M. Swartz
Virginia Mae Luttrell Swartz, 87, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Swartz was born in 1926, in Frederick County, Virginia the daughter of the late Harry and Anna Belle Luttrell. She was employed by P.W. Plumley and Bill and Anna Butler as a housekeeper, as well as the Packing Shed at National Fruit and ZeroPak in Winchester, Virginia. Mrs. Swartz was a member of Shockeysville United Methodist Church, Frederick County, Virginia.
She married Edward C. Swartz on July 24, 1943, in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with her husband of 70 years is her daughter, Carolyn Sue Bowers; granddaughter Mr. and Mrs. Swartz raised, Bonnie Gail Scruggs; sons, Jr., Roy, Ronnie, Kenny, Ralph and Scott Swartz; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 4 sisters and 9 brothers.
She is preceded in death by 3 daughters, Robin Gail Swartz, Darlene Alger, Sharon Swartz, son, Roger Swartz, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Reverend Isaac Luttrell officiating. Interment will be in Paynes Chapel Cemetery, Bunker Hill, West Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Shorty Luttrell, E.B. Luttrell, Charlie Luttrell, Buck Luttrell, Scott Luttrell and Blaine Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Holliday and Cliff Anderson.
