Violet Davis Stewart
Violet Davis Stewart, age 65, of Winchester, VA, died Thursday, July 4, 2013. Mrs. Stewart was born in 1947 in New Brunswick, NJ, the daughter of the late Eugene Davis and Luella Elizabeth Davis. She was employed by the Handley Library from 1982 until 2002, retiring after 20 years of service. Mrs. Stewart was of the Christian faith. Violet was an amazing individual who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was known for the love of her family, friends, beaches and any and all things animal related.
Surviving with her mother is her sister, Barbara Ann Middleton of Winchester, VA; her brother, Dennis Davis and wife, Karen of Stephens City, VA, and her significant other, Everald Plunkett; several nieces and nephews, Anthony, Lacy, A.J., Bella and Hunter Middleton, Jesse, Crystal and Kelsey Hawkins, Doug and Sara Davis, Kerri and Branden Davis.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Don Dee Davis and a brother-in-law, Anthony Middleton Sr.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Donnie Carter officiating. Interment will be private. Immediately following the services, the family will have a time of food and fellowship in honor of Violet at 118 Wythe Avenue, Stephens City, Virginia.
