Viola “Sug” Orndorff
It is with their deepest sorrow that her family announces that their beloved wife, mother and grandmother has been called away to be with the Lord.
Viola L. “Sug” Orndorff, 73, of Clear Brook, VA, died Friday, January 13, 2015 in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Orndorff was born in 1941 in Augusta County, VA, the daughter of the late William J. and Loretta S. Heflin.
Mrs. Orndorff married David W. Orndorff on December 17, 1961 in Wardensville, WV.
She was a woman of many talents and interests. She enjoyed cooking, baking, cake decorating, gardening, flower arranging, sewing, painting, singing and playing the piano. She was an active member of Winchester Wesleyan Church where she faithfully led the music service and served as a Sunday school teacher and treasurer. Her greatest love was spending time with her husband of 53 years, her children and her grandchildren. As a caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she selflessly gave her time and energy to meet the needs of her family. She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren and held a very special place in her heart for each of them. Her faith, love for her family and friends and her commitment to them was the strength and motivation that sustained her through the difficult health challenges she faced in her life.
Surviving with her husband are a son, Michael Orndorff, Winchester, VA; daughters, Jennifer Funk (Robert), Clear Brook, VA and Catherine Griffith, Wardensville, WV; sister, Shirley Kenney, White Post, VA; brothers, William Heflin, White Post, VA and Daniel Heflin (Jackie), Rock Hill, SC; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday with Pastor Charles Brooks officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
