Vickie Jo Strosnider, 66, of Stephens City, Virginia went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, November 2, 2017, due to leukoencephalopathy, at her home surrounded by family.
Vickie was born in 1951 in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Karl and Lois Peer. She graduated from James Wood High School, Class of 1971. Her employment included F & M Bank in Stephens City, Bank of Clarke County, Club House Sports, and Valley Health in Winchester. She was a volunteer for many years with the Frederick County National Little League, and a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
Vickie married Paul Gary Strosnider on October 4, 1969 in Winchester, Virginia.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Surviving with her husband of 48 years is a daughter, Veronica Zimmerman (David) and their children, Sterling, Landon, and Sophia of Stephens City, Virginia; son, Jeffrey Strosnider (Hollie) and their children, Sierra and Tyler of Stephens City, Virginia; sister, Sandee Bozzuto (Stan) of Ft. Myers, Florida; and very special friends, Betty Bonnett and Ann Oates, who were with her throughout her illness.
Along with her parents, Vickie was preceded in death by sisters, Carla McDonough and Pam Carroll.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 am on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Reverend Glenn Welsh officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Virginia.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dave Barker, Mike Cox, Troy Hammond, Glenn Knight, Dickie McDonald, and Doug Nichols. Honorary pallbearers will be Sierra Strosnider, Sterling Zimmerman, Tyler Strosnider, Landon Zimmerman, and Sophia Zimmerman.
