Vickie Gum Norman, 65, of Frederick County, Virginia, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018, at Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Norman was born in 1953, in Elkins, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Ann and Harry Gum. She was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1970. Mrs. Norman was a retired medical receptionist with various medical offices in the area.

She married James Lynn Norman on July 17, 1971, in Front Royal, Virginia.

Surviving with her husband is a daughter, Niki Ross; grandson, J. Harrison “Indy” Ross, both of Winchester, Virginia, and sister, Donna M. Gray (Ron) of Middletown, Virginia.

All services with Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, will be private.

Have fond memories of Vickie from growing up with her in Middletown and sharing times at JWHS with her. Always thought of her as a special person. Deepest sympathy to her family.

Dear Family : Vicki was a dear friend of my youth and we rode bikes, played music, made up our own dances to the Monkees. We shared countless hours together. As adults we had little contact but her beautiful smile, endearing laughter and sweet nature will never be lost. MS was unkind to her but I understand she was courageous in her battle. God has another angel under his wing. I only wish I'd had a chance to remind her how much she meant to me growing up on Church Street.

Dear Donna and family, We were so sorry to hear of Vicki passing. Vicki grew up wirh us when she was young in Elkins. As cousins we were all close to the same age and spent a lot of time together.
