Vergie Mae Pitcock

Vergie Mae Pitcock, age 79, of Winchester, Virginia, died Saturday, January 8, 2011, in Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Pitcock was born in 1931, in Cross Junction, Virginia, the daughter of the late Arthur and Nellie Crosen. She was a devoted mother and homemaker.

Surviving are her daughters: Betty Lou Newlin and her husband, Carl, Tena Mae Helsley and her husband, Wesley, Gloria Ann Newlin and her husband, Terry, Gail Sharon Bollock, and her husband, Raymond, Jr., and Rose Marie Rinker and her husband, Thomas, all of Winchester, VA; her sons, Franklin Lee Pitcock and Mikey Griffin, both of Winchester, VA; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, and daughter-in-law, Tina Pitcock. One son, Harvey Clinton Pitcock preceded her in death. Vergie was one of twelve children.

A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, 2:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
