Vera L. Myers
Vera Lorene St. Clair Myers, 98, of Winchester, Virginia, died Thursday, August 1, 2013, in a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Myers was born in 1915, in Logan, Ohio, the daughter of the late Stanley D. and Nellie E. St. Clair. She was a graduate of Ohio State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Mrs. Myers was a retired High School English teacher at Miamisburg High School, Miamisburg, Ohio. Vera was a dedicated and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and teacher. She was known for her personality and love of life, as well as was a member of the Methodist faith.
She married Herbert Lewis Myers, Jr., on December 24, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio. He preceded her in death on January 17, 1995.
Surviving are two daughters, Marilyn Carter of Richmond, Virginia, Elizabeth Ward and husband, Earl, of Williamsburg, Virginia; two sons, Herbert L. Myers, III of Cincinnati, Ohio, James F. Myers of Annapolis, Maryland; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Four brothers preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Reverend Vernon Bray officiating. Private Family Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.
