I first met Betty in the mid 1980's when I moved to Winchester and began attending Southside Church of Christ. I always found her to be friendly, helpful and unwavering in her faith. The many ways that she worked in our church gave her much pleasure. She sewed hats for our Baja Mission, organized and prepared snacks for Vacation Bible School every Summer, in addition to various other ways she served the Lord. I am sure that many of her good deeds will never be known to us. When the church was giving away pews that we no longer needed, I decided to take one for my front porch. Betty helped me select a marine-type fabric with which to cover the seat and came over and assisted me in the installation. She was a joy to visit and I especially remember the day that I took sundaes for us (she liked caramel). We savored our ice cream and chatted for a few hours unaware of the passing time. I always felt welcome. I will truly miss seeing her "this side of Heaven." My condolences to her loving family and her many friends.

I'll love you forever Mom. I have so many wonderful memories of our time spent together fishin', playin' scrabble, playin' cards, sewin' and so much more. You were an amazing mother and I admired you so much. You never wavered in your faith and I loved you for that. We were lucky to have you for our Mom.

My dearest ,sweet, selfless Grandma. The memories we had will forever be in my heart! You had to tell Scottie about me losing the "heads" lol. And how funny you thought that was. The cabbage heads when we were in the garden and my wagen tipped over and they all rolled away. I was so scared you would b upset, you just laughed and laughed! You were always such a goof sport about everything. To me , I thought it was the worst thing I could have done! And when I saw you reaction, I was confused at first but then understood that those things happen and it was really ok. I learned so much from you! Sewing, canning, games, puzzles, patience, love, respect! Thank you for being my Grandma.
