Vance Allen Perry, Sr., 72, of Cross Junction, Virginia passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Perry was born in 1945 in Danvers, Massachusetts, the son of the late Vincent and Margaret Perry. He graduated from Masconomet High School, Class of 1964 and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston. Mr. Perry was a Vietnam-era veteran, serving in the United States Army Reserves, achieving the rank of Captain. He was employed at Moca Systems, a forensic engineering company, but never fully retired; he enjoyed his work too much to retire. Mr. Perry was a member of Knights of Columbus and a NRA Benefactor. He participated in shooting competitions, was an avid reader, a computer enthusiast, enjoyed movies and was a “Trekkie”. Mr. Perry also enjoyed traveling with his late wife, Joan. He was a member of St. Edwards Epiphany Catholic Church in North Chesterfield, Virginia.
His wife, Joan Lois Perry, whom he married on December 29, 1968 in Middleton, Massachusetts preceded him in death in 2016.
Surviving are sons, Vance “Skip” Allen Perry, Jr. (Allison Dawn) of Butler, Pennsylvania and Craig Michael Perry (Laci) of Cross Junction, Virginia; grandchildren, Michael, Madelyn, and Isabella Perry of Butler, Pennsylvania and John Perry of Cross Junction, Virginia; step-grandchildren, Jacob and Luke Riddle; brother, Eugene Francis Perry (Belinda) of Kerrville, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
