Vahè Geukgeuzian, age 86, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and friend, departed from this world on Thursday, January 25, 2024, in Rustburg, Virginia, leaving an enduring legacy of faith, love, kindness, and dedication. He was born on April 16, 1937, in Kerkkhan, Turkey, the cherished son of Sarkis and Nevart Geukgeuzian.
Vahè was a devoted husband to the late Hazel Julia Geukgeuzian, with whom he shared 49 years of companionship, joy, and unwavering love. Together, they created a home filled with faith and laughter. Vahè was a committed father to Michael, Stephen, and Jonathan, nurturing them with biblical wisdom, Christ-like compassion, and strong family values. His legacy lives on through the close bonds he forged with his family.
He is survived by three of his siblings, including Zevart Geukgeuzian Bijakjian, Bedros Geukgeuzian and his wife, Elo, of Montreal, Canada, and Hermine Geukgeuzian Baaklini and her husband, Samir, of Beirut, Lebanon; his three sons, Michael Geukgeuzian and his wife, Catherine, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Stephen Geukgeuzian of Clearfield, Utah, Jonathan Geukgeuzian and his wife, Felicia, of Rustburg, Virginia; grandchildren, Sean, Michael II, Rowan, Mackenzi. Megan, Jordyn, and Dylan. Their collective memories reflect a lifetime of shared experiences and mutual support.
His daughter-in-law, Karen Geukgeuzian, brother-in-law, Yervant Bijakjian, sister, Berjouhi Geukgeuzian Darakdjian, and her husband, Yervant, sister, Lydia Geukgeuzian Sarian and her husband, Barkev, brother, Samuel Guekguezian and his wife, Sona, brother, Hayrabed Geukgeuzian and his wife, Loucine, preceded him in death.
Vahè will be fondly remembered for his love of the Lord Jesus Christ, his love for people, his generosity, and his sense of humor. His greatest joy in life was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories during family gatherings and holidays. He left an indelible impression of warmth and benevolence.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, February 16th from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 17th at Omps Funeral Home, with Pastor Greg Mergian officiating.

Vahè Geukgeuzian’s departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but the memories of his endearment, wisdom, and humor will forever echo in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
He lived a life of unwavering faith and resilience, exemplified by the words of the Apostle Paul, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.” – 2 Timothy 4:7-8
