Vador Blanton Dunkum III, Leetown, WV, died April 15, 2023, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center. He was born January 19, 1942, in Pine Bluff, AR, to Vador Blanton Dunkum Jr. and Lucille Davis Dunkum.
He is survived by his brothers, Mike Dunkum (and wife Valerie Owens), Leetown, WV, Gregory Dunkum, Gentry, AR, niece Angela Dunkum and nephew Alan Dunkum, both of Gentry, AR.
He was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School, class of 1960. After graduating from pharmacy school at Northeast Louisiana University (now University of Louisiana at Monroe), he worked as a hospital pharmacist at Hôtel-Dieu (University Hospital) in New Orleans. He made a career change and became a crew chief for 20 years in professional racing series, including Formula Atlantic, Super Vee, and IMSA GT. He retired in 2008 as a millwright at Visger Precision Inc. machine shop in San Jose, CA, and moved to Leetown, WV.
