Tess was a mentor to me when I came to work at the lab at Winchester Memorial Hospital. She taught me "everything about blood banking" and helped me learn to play Canasta"! She was strong-willed, stern and had an exceptional work ethic! One of my favorite memories was of her coffee cup...she painted a skull and cross-bones on her cup so no one would use/take it. If you listened, learned and shared a similar work-ethic you had made a friend. We had many, many fun times during downtime at work while playing cards. Even if I wasn't playing cards with her, it was a hoot to watch her play with her buddies like Mary Jo, Joan, Janie, Binky and Shelda. She did love her cards! She shared wonderful stories about her life, her children and I really admired her strength and confidence. I am very, very lucky to have had her in my work corner. She was one of a kind! Rest in peace Tess!
