Tristan Keith Long
Tristan Keith Long, 15, of Clear Brook, VA, passed away near his home in Clear Brook, VA on Friday, December 19, 2014 .
Tristan was born in 1999 in Winchester, VA, the son of Lori Long, significant other, David Wilkins, Jr. of Clear Brook, VA and father Keith Long of Maryland, and He was a sophomore at James Wood High School and attended Brucetown United Methodist Church. Tristan was a Boy Scout in Troop 18. He had earned 59 merit badges and had recently completed his Eagle project. His project consisted of building a chimney swift enclosure for the Blue Ridge Wildlife Center in Boyce, VA. He was awaiting the ceremony to receive his Eagle Scout rank. Tristan also belonged to the Order of Arrows, the Wrestling Team at James Wood High School and was a member of the James Wood High School Band. He was very much involved in Community Service through the Boy Scouts by helping with the Salvation Army and Food Pantry.
Surviving with his parents is a sister, Abigail Leeann Wilkins and a brother, Jonathan David Wilkins both of Clear Brook. His grandparents, Jeanette Ann Anderson of Middletown, VA, Larry and Jean Miles of Michigan, David and Margie Wilkins of Winchester, VA and a much-loved aunt, Christine Fawley. Other family members include Lisa Jean Gillman, Michael Shipp, Aaron Baptist, Lisa Marie Maines, and Ruth and Robert Clark.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Ball II, Noah Marshall, Matt Petitta, Michael Bean, Jonathan Norris, Michael Norris, Carter McIlwee, Jack Youngblood, John Keefe and Dusty Willis.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryce Newlin, Nick Jones and Roy Walker.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 22, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 with Reverend Yun Kim officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, VA.
