Tony Evans
Tony Randall Evans, age 52, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in Winchester Medical Center.
Tony was born in 1963 in Winchester, the son of the late Thomas J. Evans and Wanda B. Wright. He was a 1983 graduate of John Handley High School. Tony worked for Coca Cola as a route driver. He was a member of the Judges Athletic Association and assisted with the chains on the field during Handley football games. He was also an umpire for Winchester Baseball. He loved all sports (especially dirt track racing), watching movies and cooking shows. He liked to cook and try new recipes he would discover. Tony loved his family and had a personality that demonstrated kindness to all – he had friends everywhere.
Tony married Kathy Taylor on May 11, 1985 in Winchester.
Surviving with his wife, is his step-mother, Judy Evans-Lambert, his daughters, Debra McNally (Bill Kulp) of Martinsburg, WV and Jennifer Evans of Harrisonburg, VA; his son, Timothy Evans of Winchester, VA; two grandchildren, Sarah Jenkins of Winchester, VA and Taylor Vorous of Martinsburg, WV; two sisters, Jackie McMickle (Billy) of Galax, VA and Tammy Monk (Hardy) of Winchester, VA; and a brother, Jerry Evans (Loura) of Galax, VA; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A brother, Edward Howe, preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Melissa Miller officiating. The family would like to honor Tony’s request of a more casual, upbeat service by encouraging their guests to dress casually.
