Timothy “Tim” Paulk Hassell

Timothy Paulk Hassell, 47, of Winchester, VA, died Sunday, September 25, 2011 at University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, VA. Mr. Hassell was born in 1964 in Florence, Alabama, the son of the late Richard Frank and Virginia Hassell. He was an Information Security Specialist at the Department of Veteran Affairs since 2003.

Tim served with the United States Air Force from 1982 to 1988, where he met his wife Lynn Biggs.They were married on September 15, 1984, in Boulder Canyon, Colorado.

Surviving with his wife are two daughters: Stephanie Hassell of Centreville, VA, and Mary Cate Hassell of Winchester, VA; two brothers, David Hassell of Strawberry Plains, TN, and J. R. Hassell of Birmingham, AL. A sister, Becky Hassell, preceded him in death.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday at Culpeper National Service, Culpeper, VA with David Owings officiating. Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel on Thursday, September 29, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
