Thomas R. “Tom” Dawson, Sr., 61, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Winchester Medical Center.
Tom was born in 1959 in Shirley, Massachusetts, son of the late George and Linda Dawson. He was a graduate of Webutuck High School in New York and a veteran of the United States Army, achieving the rank of SP2. For 35 years, he was a truck driver in various locations. Later on, Tom owned and operated his own trucking company, Victom Trucking. It started as a trucking and transport company, later becoming a Pilot Car Escort service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Tom enjoyed Sudoku and Crossword puzzles, watching western films, and listening to good-ole fashion country music and old time Rock-N-Roll. Tom enjoyed riding his motorcycles over the years.
Surviving is his significant other, Vicki E. Olin of Winchester, Virginia; daughter, Jacqueline Dawson and son, Thomas Ronald Dawson, Jr., both of Pine Bluff, New York; siblings, Elaine Rabideua (Larry), Tammy Watson (Larry), Kermit “K.J.” Dawson (Pam), and George Robert Dawson, all of Millerton, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church will be scheduled and announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 124 Park Street SE, Vienna, Virginia 22180.
