Thomas Nathan “Tom” Mancuso, 74, of Frederick County, Virginia, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018, at his home.
Mr. Mancuso was born in 1943, in Amityville, New York, the son of the late Virginia and John Peter Mancuso. He was a graduate of Bethpage High School, Class of 1961. Mr. Mancuso was the owner and operator of DMZ Auto Body Shop in Bay Shore, New York, for 42 years until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of Yesterday’s Cruisers, Winchester/Frederick County Conservation Club and the East Islip Dad’s Club. Mr. Mancuso was an avid hunter, enjoyed sport shooting, and fishing. He loved baseball and was a Yankees and Mets Fan. Tom had a great love for his family and family gatherings where he was the “turkey cooker” and made raviolis at Christmas time.
He married Virginia Derrick on April 23, 1972, in Long Island, New York.
Surviving with his wife of nearly 46 years is his daughter, Deborah M. Bruehs (Walter) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; sons, John R. Mancuso (Mary) of Greensboro, North Carolina, Thomas J. “T.J.” Mancuso (Erica) of Apex, North Carolina; grandchildren, Thomas Mancuso, Natalie Mancuso, Isabel Mancuso, Walter Bruehs and Derrick Bruehs; and his brothers, Frank Mancuso (Angel) of Westbury, New York and Michael Mancuso (Elisa) of Islip Terrace, New York.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 2:00-4:00 pm, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Aaron Fitch officiating.
