DearGeorgie and family, Bill and I did watch Tommy's service. It was a beautiful celebration of his life. Sherry's letter sounds like she has a gift for words like Tommy had. Brittany did a beautiful job reading it and her comments were beautiful. Mathew's comments were wonderful also. It was wonderful being able to view the funeral. It sounded like it was happy, lots of laughter for some comments. The minister truly knew Tommy and it was wonderful. I hope to upload a few pictures that Bill wanted you all to have. He searched for them after the funeral.

My dear Wright cousins, My prayers are with all of you. I wish I would have been able to attend the service in person. I watched the live stream and it was beautiful. My father loves to tell me stories of the times he spent with his cousins on the farm in Middleburg, one of his favorite places. Most of my memories of your family are from when I was very young but I think of them fondly. I loved the time I spent on the farm visiting Aunt Mabel and Uncle Turner and all of you there. Peace be with you all. Your cousin, Beth Sullivan Zinner

What a beautiful service, perfectly fitting Tommy. Barry and I have only known Tommy and Georgie a few years, but they're like family. We met at a cattle sale and it was as if we'd known each other forever. Tommy always offered a helping hand on the farm, and when he was unable to physically help, he offered advice. Once they visited and there was an upset gravity wagon half full of corn. He said "have faith" and chained the wagon to his SUV and up it came! There are no finer "salt of the Earth" country folks, than Tommy and Georgie. They gave us the cedar pole on which we hung an old dinner bell that we ring before each cattle sale. And every time it rings, and many times in between, we'll think of Tommy and smile!!! May God bless the entire Wright family.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

Ken and Marylee Payne Davis left a message on January 24, 2021:
Our sympathy, love and prayers to Georgie and all the family. Tommy was one of a kind with his faith, work and love for his family and all people. When our father Lucien T. Payne, Sr. suffered a heart attack, Tommy rode his bike 3 miles one way to come help in the dairy barn at Dover so our brother could keep his schedule at VPI as a member of the FFA. Tommy and Ken played American Legion Ball in Middleburg during High School. Tommy and Marylee were school mates at LCHS. On behalf of Ken and Marylee and the Payne Family that lived at Dover we say Rest In Peace and Thank You.

I have so many fond memories of you and Tommy. I pray that you feel God's presence as you journey through this season of grief. With Grace, Peace, and Hope Pastor Darlene Wilkins

HI Georgie, I was so sorry to hear about Tommy. I remember when the two of you came to the family reunion several years ago now and how good it was to see both of you. I remember coming up to Aunt Mabel's and Uncle Turner's house and walking across the field to come to your house and visit. I remember Tommy going out in snow storms to restore power to people without. I remember coming with Aunt Mabel to visit after you and Tommy left Middleburg. Hugs to you and all of the family. Would have loved to have been there today, but it just wasn't possible, as we are helping Marty's mother. Love you bunches, Kathy

Dear Georgie and family, Bill and I are so sorry for Tommy's passing. Bill especially has many wonderful memories of Tommy. He is always talking about how he would spend part of the summers there helping on the farm. We have a picture of Bill and Tommy looking out the pilot house window of the "Seven Brothers" or the "Simmons" probably going over to Aunt Sis' and Uncle Pet's across the Bay. We also are sorry we cannot be there but Bill's health cannot let us take that long trip. He said he wanted to go the grave side but we decided we could not. We are sending prayers for you and your family. Our love Ann and Bill.

Our prayers are with Tommy and his family. Tommy was the most easy person to talk with we have ever meant in all of our travels. He was greatly missed at Mt Hermon when he and Georgie moved away, and will remain so.

Georgie I am so sorry to hear about Tommy. I think of you and Tommy often, especially when I pass by your home on Orkney Grade. I’ve missed your sweet selves at church as well. The first time I met you both I knew I wanted to be your friend because I knew you were “good ole down home folks”! We know Tommy is in a better place but I know you are missing him like crazy, my prayers are with you. God bless and keep you, love Linda.

We’re missing Tommy already...when we stop in for a visit, Tommy always made us laugh and we always felt better when we left. He was a wonderful guide at their museum..He also loved sitting by the window watching the birds. There were no strangers in Tommy’s presence and his strong faith carried him smiling through the days with no worries. RIP
