Oh, Kathy so very sorry for you loss! Tried a couple of times to see her at WMC, however that spuncky lady was always out and about! Prayers my dear! Will always have very fond memories of your mom! UVA!

Nana was such a force of nature: always surrounded by friends, activities and family, an active and loving mom, wonderful wife to two husbands, sports buff (never missed a UVA basketball or football game - either in Charlottesville or on tv!), and star bridge player until the end. She helped to make all of us - her children, grandchildren and now great-grandchildren - who we are. More than anything, Nana taught me the power of always looking for the good - knowing (and counting) the blessings all around you - both when things are good and when things are hard. I’m extraordinarily lucky to have had her in my life!

My Mom was the most incredible Mom imaginable. She supported me in all my passions, tennis, dance and cheerleading. She also was the most amazing role model for me! Her passion for tennis, golf, bridge, bowling etc. as well as her community involvement was inspiring to me. She and my father gave me my inspiration to help all the children that I taught that did not have the wonderful parents and opportunities that I had!
Emily and Shaun Huttar left a message on May 25, 2023:
Thelma was... A surrogate mother and grandmother when we had none. The best Bridge partner I could ever have hoped for and had. A gracious host to many birthday celebrations at her club. Generous with all that she had including her beloved UVA sports tickets. A lifeforce that lasted almost a century and with her passing a void filled only with silence. Thelma will be missed but never forgotten as we carry her in our hearts and fondest memories. Emily and Shaun Huttar
