Thelma T. Clore
Thelma Cophelia Thompson Clore, 85, of Winchester, Virginia, died Saturday, September 7, 2013, in Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury.
Mrs. Clore was born in 1927, in Salisbury, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine Thompson. Mrs. Clore was active in many local activities, a former member of Collegiate County Day School Board, Richmond Virginia; former Chairman of Democratic Women of Virginia; former Chair of Democratic Party of Frederick and Clark Counties; former President of Fremont Street Nursery and former President and Executive Director of United Fund of Winchester, Frederick and Clarke Counties
She married Dr. Jesse N. Clore on December 31, 1947, in New York, he preceded her in death.
Surviving are her children, Dr. John N. Clore of Richmond, Virginia; Mr. and Mrs. William Crisler Clore of Laytonsville, Maryland; Ms. Letitia Clore of Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren Ellen T. Clore of Alexandria, Virginia; Sarah Crisler Clore of Brooklyn, New York; John Jamison Clore of Lawrenceville, New Jersey; and Duncan McGrady-Clore Yeatts of Tucson, Arizona.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept 14 at 10:00 AM at Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury, 300 Westminster Canterbury Drive, Winchester, Virginia with the Rev. Elizabeth Lewis and Rev. Richard Reifsnyder officiating. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia Unit of SVWC or charity of your choice.
