Mark, Amanda, Caleb and Tyler Roe

Mark Kevin Roe, 49, Amanda Louise Simkhovitch Roe, 31, Caleb Andrew Roe 11, and Tyler Kevin Roe, 4, all of Stephenson, Virginia, died Sunday, June 26, 2011 in Frederick County, Virginia.

Mark was born in 1962, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of Shirley Jean Roe and the late Roscoe Chester Roe. He was a licensed plumber, an avid civil war relic hunter and antique bottle collector. He was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1980.

Amanda was born in 1979, the daughter of Jamie “Andy” Simkhovitch of Strasburg, Virginia and Brenda Ann Simkhovitch of Stephenson, Virginia. She was a homemaker and loved sewing, cake decorating, baking and taking care of her two sons.

Mark and Amanda were married on July 1, 2000, in Winchester, Virginia.

Caleb was born in 1999, in Winchester, Virginia. He completed the 5th grade at Stonewall Elementary School where he was a straight A student. He most recently received a Math Achievement Award from President Obama. He also enjoyed video games.

Tyler was born in 2006, in Winchester, Virginia. He loved to draw and plant flowers.

Surviving with Mark’s mother, is his sister, Christina Sue Roe; brother, Carl David Roe and his wife, Denice, all of Stephenson, Virginia; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Surviving with Amanda’s parents is her sister, Samantha Sue Kuykendall and her husband, Charles, and their children, Teslyn, Damian and Kaedyn, all of Bloomery, West Virginia.

Tyler and Caleb are survived by their grandparents and a great grandmother Sue Nelson of Stephenson, Virginia, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Robert Morris and Pastor Tom Mounts officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer Church Cemetery, Frederick County, Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening 5:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
