Terry N. DeHaven Sr., 68, of Winchester, Virginia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was affectionately known as “Granddaddy” and “Pops” to his family and friends.
Terry was born in Winchester, Virginia, on October 16, 1957, the son of the late Ray Lee DeHaven Sr. and Pauline I. (Davis) DeHaven.
Terry attended James Wood High School and he was the proud Owner of Triple T Trucking, a business he founded in 1982 with just one truck, which grew to a fleet of trucks, operating alongside his family. Terry was a devoted member of Faith Revival Church in Winchester.
Terry was an avid gun collector and had a passion for racing. He enjoyed all his years racing with his son TJ and his grandkids Kayla and Trey. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with all his grandkids and being actively involved in their activities. He never missed watching his grandson CJ’s baseball games, and he would always Face Time his granddaughter Audrey to tell jokes. He also enjoyed having an occasional drink of Moonshine and was well known for his “Terry” jokes.
Terry married the love of his life, Teresa L. (Brill) DeHaven, on June 22, 1975, in Winchester, Virginia.
In addition to his wife, Terry is survived by his daughter, Tonya DeHaven Gay (Cory); his son, TJ DeHaven Jr. (Connie); his beloved grandkids Kayla DeHaven, Trey DeHaven, CJ Gay, and Audrey Gay; his brother Jerry P. DeHaven Sr. and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his sisters Barbara Jenkins and Sherrie Paulette DeHaven and his brothers Ray DeHaven Jr. and Richard DeHaven.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Gary Palmer officiating. Interment will be private. A reception will follow the service at the Gainesboro Fire Hall.
