Terry L. Foster
Terry Lee Foster, 61, of Winchester, Virginia, went home peacefully, Saturday, December 26, 2009 with his wife by his side.
Mr. Foster was born in 1948, in Winchester, the son of the late Lester Carl Foster, Sr. and Maxine May Foster. He was a heavy equipment operator for 45 years, having worked for John Shelly Excavating, L.F. Franklin, Stuart M. Perry and most recently, Angler Construction. He was a graduate of James Wood High School, attended Old Bethel United Methodist Church and was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the National Street Rod Association and the Winchester Moose Lodge 1283. He enjoyed building hot rods or anything of a challenging nature. He loved riding motorcycles with his friends, hunting and fishing. He especially loved his lifelong companion, his dog, Niki. He also loved operating Caterpillar heavy equipment.
Mr. Foster married Bonnie Gail Shelly on January 5, 1968 in Hagerstown, MD.
Surviving with his wife is a brother, Lester “Buzzy” Carl Foster, Jr. of Richmond, VA.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with the Reverend Daniel Spaugh and the Reverend Jason Duley officiating. Interment will be in Macedonia U.M.C. Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Shelly, Jack Hazel, Sammy Buckley, William Boyd, Ralph Shiley, Denny Perry, Elmer Marple and Larry Cooper.
The family will receive friends at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel on Monday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
