Teresa Hoff Dillon passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.

She was born in Winchester, VA on February 27, 1954, to Thomas Eli and Elsie Kines Hoff. Teresa was raised on the family dairy farm near Upperville and was active in 4-H where she showed beef cattle. After graduation from Longwood University in 1976 with a degree in History, she taught for over 39 years in Franklin City, Suffolk and the counties of Clarke and Loudoun.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dan and leaves behind her daughter, Kelly Unger (Rick). She is also survived by her brother, Tom Hoff and wife, Mary Alice, niece, Allison Simmons, nephew, Will Hoff and grand-nieces, Cass Knicely and Kori Simmons.

A private service will be held for close friends and family.

Rest in Peace Theresa, My thoughts and Prayers are with your daughter Kelly and her family. I have a lot of fond memories of Uncle Tom & Aunt Elsie and the Sunday dinners with you all at the dairy farm as a child.

Giggles I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. She was a great lady.

Kelly, Your Mom was a true treasure, as I am sure you are aware. She taught my son in CCHS and later in our lives we found our paths back together as friends because of your Dad. Both your parents are amazing people and I am blessed to have known them. Larry and I enjoyed our beach vacation with them both. Prayers for peace and healing in the days to come. I know your Dad greeted your Mom with open arms. Rest easy, my dear friend, rest easy.

Dear Kelly, I know you know what a dear Friendship I had with your mom for 36 years , since I started teaching at CCHS. I was only there for two years before moving on to Winchester schools and then to LCPS. But in those two years your mom mentored me and helped me over the bumps of being a brand new teacher. Though she was two years younger than I at the time, she had already I think about thirteen years of teaching. She loved history and loved sharing that love with her students. We became friends and that lasted these last 36 years. I respected and loved your mom. I will miss her greatly. She was a special person and the world is somehow dimmed without her light .
