Thomas Lawrie Jackson
Thomas Lawrie Jackson of The Village at Orchard Ridge in Winchester, VA, formerly of Vero Beach FL, Pocono Pines, PA and Waverly, PA, passed peacefully away on October 8, 2015 at the age of 92.
Lawrie was born in DeLand, FL, the son of the late Thomas L. Jackson and Josephine Jackson Cuttle. He graduated from The University of Florida with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Lawrie was a veteran in the Army Engineer Corp, serving in WWII, earning a Silver Star and a Purple Heart. He retired in 1985 as an Industrial Engineer from the Singer Link Company.
Lawrie attended the First Presbyterian Church in Winchester, VA. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge in Waverly, PA and a member of the Vero Beach and Moorings Country Clubs in Vero Beach FL. His passion was golf, but he also enjoyed skiing, playing bridge and travelling with his beloved wife, Sue. They were married for 62 years. In addition to his wife, Lawrie is survived by his 5 daughters and their spouses: Sandra and Phil Baumgart of Winchester, VA; Robin and Patrick Donlevy of New Jersey; Donna and David Patterson of Arizona, Margo and Craig Jones of New York; and Carolyn and Andy Limeri of Massachusetts. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
