Sylvia Crews Sawyers, 80 of Lake Frederick, VA passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.

Sylvia was born in 1943 in Washington D.C., the daughter of the late Leonard Walker and Keturah Mae Crews. She retired as a school bus driver for Fairfax and Frederick County Schools. Sylvia was known for helping anyone, anywhere and at any time. She was a long time foster parent. Sylvia loved going to yard sales, watching Gone with the Wind and was a big Elvis fan.

She is survived by her sons, Russell Stephens Sawyers (Wendy) of Culpeper, VA, Rodrick Steven Sawyers (Jeanna) of Goshen, VA, Rhett Scott Sawyers of Haymarket, VA; grandchildren, Ashlea Lundberg (Jeff), James Green, Eric Halle, Misty Green, Katherine Sawyers, Mason Sawyers; great-grandson, Tucker Lundberg and brother, Daniel Walker Crews (Robin).

Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Rodney Stephen Sawyers; daughter, Theresa Anne Green; sister, Keturah Anne Crews; and brother, John Leonard Crews.

A visitation will be held for Sylvia on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 6pm to 8pm with a service the following day, Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 1pm, all held at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
