Suzanne “Suzie” Michelle Wolford, 50, of Winchester, VA, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at her home after a short battle with cancer.

Suzie was born in 1973 in Winchester, VA, the daughter of the late Leslie Foster Shuler and Juanita May (Fletcher) Taylor. She worked as an office manager for Scott & Scott Construction, but her love was being a homemaker and taking care of her family. Suzie attended Second Opequon Presbyterian Church. She was an animal lover and loved having them at her home. Suzie had previously worked at Winchester Pet & Aquarium Store. She most enjoyed being at home and caring for her animals and her family.

She is survived by her husband, Christopher “Scott” Wolford, whom she married on June 21, 2003; her daughter, Savannah Nicole Wolford at home; and her stepbrother, Billy Taylor and his wife, Stacey, of Honolulu, HI.

Suzie is preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Robert “Bob” Taylor.

A Celebration of Life for Suzie will be on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 4pm to 7pm at Omps Reception Center, Amherst Chapel. There will be a small service during the celebration at 6pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Winchester SPCA, 111 Featherbed Lane, Winchester, VA 22601 or Esther Boyd Animal Shelter, 161 Fort Collier Rd., Winchester, VA 22603.

So sorry to hear of Suzie's untimely passing. All of our local wildlife and some of our domestic four legged friends have most certainly lost a friend. Her infectious smile will be missed. Prayers to the family.

Sweet soul

Scott, in so deeply sorry for your and your family's loss.

We met Suzie when we came over to hunt. She was always smiling and was such a great cook! We certainly enjoyed our time there with her, Scot and Savannah. Fly with the angels my dear, we will miss you, know you are always in our hearts.

So very sorry that Suzie is gone. She was one of my favorite people. 😢
