Suzanne J. Demski
Suzanne Joan Woodall Demski, 81, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Monday, September 15, 2014, at her home.
Mrs. Demski was born in 1933, in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of the late Noble and Susanna Woodall. She was a graduate of Elkridge High School, Class of 1951. Mrs. Demski was a homemaker and was employed at Procter and Gamble, National Fruit Products and The Winchester-Frederick County Chamber of Commerce. She was active within the community participating with the Colonial Garden Club and the Christian Family Movement. Suzanne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will forever be remembered for her faith, her love of reading and gardening as well as the support of her grandchildren’s activities. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester where she was a co-adorer for the Perpetual Adoration Chapel and a member of the Bereavement and Soup Kitchen committees. Suzanne was a volunteer at Birthright and a driver for Faith in Action as well as an elementary special education classroom volunteer.
She married Bernard J. Demski on August 21, 1955, in Jessup, Maryland.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Susanna White and husband, Ed, of Winchester, Allison Whitener and husband, John, of White Post; sons, Greg Demski and wife, Becky, of Stephens City, Kevin Demski and wife, Suzanna, of Ashburn, B. Thomas Demski and wife, Roberta, of Woodstock; ten grandchildren, Randy, Michelle, Michael, Matthew, Joseph, Rachael, Dan, Sam, Elizabeth and Amy, two great grandchildren; Nadia and Cailyn; sisters, Louise Smith of Strasburg, Carole Haker and husband, George, of Ellicott City, Maryland; sister in law, Joan Woodall of Hanover, Maryland; brothers, James Woodall and wife, Joan, of Macungie, Pennsylvania, Jacob Woodall and wife, Gloria and Brent Woodall and wife, Tina, all of Winchester.
Suzanne was preceded in death by one brother Wilmer Woodall.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church by Father Brendan Bartlett. Interment will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.
