Very sad. Now I know why I couldn't contact Susan.

My deepest and heartfelt condolences to her family. Susan and I worked together before her retirement and she often spoke lovingly of her family and shared with us her many life adventures. She was a talented knitter and cook and an incredibly intelligent lady. She was also very caring--someone who spoke highly of her children and extended family. I remember fondly the day she learned I loved spicy food and a couple days later she brought in a couple tins of her favorite green chilies for me. Another time as she was nearing her final day at work, she gave me the cutest figurine of a turtle on a rock which has traveled with me to every workplace. I had planned on visiting her last fall with another colleague after she fell ill. Unfortunately, when we tried to make plans, we couldn't reach her by phone. It wasn't until I remembered her maiden name today that I came across her obituary. I am saddened not to see her again on this earth but I hope she knows her old work colleagues were thinking of her. She is sorely missed.

To the Coonrod family, I have just learned of Susan's passing. today (07/24/2020). I cannot begin to tell you how saddened I am by this news. I knew Susan when we were students at the University of Houston. Susan was the first person that I met at UH when we were in line to check into the dorms in September, 1968. I am so glad to say that our friendship lasted for over fifty years. She and her family (Mr. & Mrs, Masters) were always so kind and welcoming to the group of us from the dorms at their home in Pasadena. I will always remember Susan with fondness and affection. Please accept my most sincere condolences. Sincerely, Lionel Boudreaux
