Susan Rae “Sue” “Dingy” “Mumzy” Richardson Hokenson, 72, of Bluemont, Virginia, died Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Hokenson was born in 1943, in Washington D.C., the daughter of the late Lillian Florence and Harold Calvin Richardson. She was a graduate of Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. Mrs. Hokenson was a secretary with the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs retiring in December, 1971. She was a huge animal lover. With her around, there was never a stray. She enjoyed couponing and was lovingly known as the “Coupon Queen” but, her greatest joy in life was her home and family. They were her world.
She married George Patton Hokenson on December 9, 1971, in Berryville, Virginia.
Surviving with her husband is her daughter, Jennifer D. Largent and husband, Aaron, of Stephenson, Virginia; grandchildren, Destiny Nicole Largent of Stephens City, Virginia, Breanna Rose Largent, of Stephenson, Virginia, and Tyler Lee Largent of Bunker Hill, West Virginia.
Susan was preceded in death by her beloved Chihuahua, Mit-c.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor Joel Flower officiating. Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery, White Post, Virginia.
