Susan McCuen “Sue” (Pope) Beach, 74, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020, surrounded by family at her home.

Mrs. Beach was born in 1945 in Washington, D.C., daughter of the late Benjamin and Evaline Pope. She was a secretary with Fairfax County Public Schools, retiring after 26 years of service. Mrs. Beach fought a hard fight against breast cancer in 2017 and beat it! She succumbed to Multiple Sclerosis that she had fought for over 5 years. Mrs. Beach always kept her great sense of humor and remained witty throughout her health struggles. She loved being with family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Her husband, Frank Stanley Beach, whom she married on August 17, 1967 in Washington, D.C., preceded her in death in 2016.

Surviving is a daughter, Terri Spalding and husband, Doug of Boyce, Virginia and a son, Stan Beach of Alexandria, Virginia; grandchildren, Kendall, Holly, and Dougie Spalding, all of Boyce, Virginia and Marisa Beach of Alexandria, Virginia; great grandson, Weston Spalding of Boyce, Virginia; and sister, Patricia Pope Walker of Florida.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, January 10th, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
