Sue Ann Marks Nelson, 81, of Stephenson, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Nelson was born in 1937, in Gandeeville, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Adelphia U. and Clarence Harold Marks. She attended Parkersburg High School in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker who loved gardening, baking and cooking, cross stitch and plastic canvas.
She married Prestley E. Nelson, Sr. in 1955, in Indiana. He preceded her in death in August of 2000.
Surviving is her daughter, Brenda Simkhovitch of Stephenson, Virginia; sons, Tim Nelson (Krista) of Columbus Ohio, Christopher Nelson (Kim) of Panama City Florida; grandchildren, Chris Nelson, Jr. (Aisleen), Landon Nelson, Tiffany Nelson, Candace Nelson, Samantha Kuykendall (Robbie); 6 great grandchildren and brother, Rick Marks (Lola) of West Virginia.
Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two sons, Jeff Nelson and Prestley Nelson, Jr. and her brother, Steve Marks; granddaughter, Amanda Roe (Mark); 2 great grandsons, Caleb & Tyler Roe.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 2nd from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Saturday, March 2nd at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Alan L. Morrison officiating. Interment will be private.
