Dear Kathy, Victoria, and Nick,
We were so shocked to hear Nick was gone due to pancreatic cancer. Even in our close neighborhood we did not know. We will miss his big smile and friendliness while out walking the streets, but know we'll see him again one day. We pray for healing for your family as you move forward, and please remember we are only steps from your front door. Hugs to you all. Jerry & Barbara
Dear Victoria, Nick, and Mrs. Corbin,
I am so sorry for your family’s loss of your kind father. I will always remember his big smile. May you find comfort in all of your wonderful memories.
Mrs. Wallenfelsz
Your First Grade Teacher
My heart felt condolences to your family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. We always remember his sincere and happy smile. What a blessing he was to your family and all those you had the joy of knowing him.
Steve was a fellow employee for the City of Winchester. He worked at City Hall and I worked at Social Services. Whenever I went to City Hall I would stop by his door and we would laugh at bunches of little things. He was a kind man with a great sense of humor. He helped me out of a lot of purchasing snafus over the years. He was also fair and had a common sense approach in his personnel roles. I am glad to have known him and pray for the comfort of good memories for his family going forward.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.
We do wish we were able to be there and hug each and everyone of you. The Corbit family is part of our family. We love we laugh we cry together. Know you are in our thoughts and prayers. I feel Big Steve will always be watching over us and know we will embrace again in heaven. Feel our love and our hugs.
My sincerest condolences to your family on your loss. Steve was an all around great guy! Just super nice. I graduated from high school with him, we were in the same homeroom. I was shocked and saddened today when I heard of his passing. Thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Rest in peace Steve.
What a beautiful service. It was so inspiring to hear all the memories shared by family and friends. They reminded me of special times at both No. River and Ft Valley that our families have had there.. We'll think of Steve especially when we are at either cabin and sit the the Hokie/VaTech picnic tables he made for both yards.
so young, so sorry. We will be thinking of you and your family.
Steve’s grandmother, Vera, passed away November 2004. Steve’s mother, Lorraine, cleared out her residence and brought home a plastic floral arrangement. Seven months later, In June of 2005, Lorraine found this poem secretly hidden in the floral arrangement. We all cried when she shared it now and even more today.
Safely Home
I am home In heaven, dear ones, Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty, in this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over, every restless tossing passed.
I am now at peace forever, safely home in heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! But Jesus’s love illuminated every dark and fearful glade.
Then you must not grieve so sorely, for I love you still
Try to look beyond earths shadows, pray to trust our Fathers will.
There is work still waiting for you, so you must not idly stand.
Do it now while life remaineth, you shall rest in Jesus’s land.
When That work is completed, he will gently call you home.
Oh, the rapture of that meeting, oh the joy to see you come.
Steve will be forever missed. ?
Love, Aunt Andrea

So sorry for your lost. I only knew Steve for a short time but in that short time I knew he loved his family and they meant the world to him. Even during his sickness he still found time to reach out to me during the illness and the passing of my mother. He thought of others. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

We are so sorry for your loss. You are all in our prayers.
To Steve, you were the best of men; to the scouts, you were the best of leaders. I wish I had known you more, yet what I did know of you was flashing brilliance and kindness. To Kathy and the kids (particularly Nick , who I had in Scouting), I know your loss is great, greater than anything known. For that I weep. I weep for me that I might one day reach Steve's greatness. If I can be counted as friend, this would be the greatest honor.

Kathy, Nick, & Victoria,
We lift you all up in our prayers. Our sincere condolences. Steve was an amazing man, father, and troop leader. He was a pillar of our small community. So kind and gentle hearted. He was loved by all and will be missed by so many. Our loving God has called him home and we pray he gives you all the strength and courage you need in these coming days and months. Rest easy now Big Guy.
Steve, your own words to me last week: “Every day is so wonderful and precious.” So, so very true. I already miss our chats and am still puzzled how you had such a better grasp on my chemo treatments and appointments than I did! God bless you, Kathy, Nick, and Victoria. Keep a light on for us. God Speed, Brother.
We, and our community, will miss Steve’s smile and kindness. Our prayers are with the Kathy, Nick, and Victoria.
We’re so sorry to hear of Steve’s passing, many prayers to your family.
