Steven D. Leslie, Sr.

Steven Dale Leslie, Sr., of Stephens City, Virginia, died Monday, March 10, 2014, at his home.

Mr. Leslie was born in 1951, in Staunton, Virginia, the son of the late William L. Leslie and Evelyn Nitz. He was a graduate of Fort Defiance High School in Augusta County, Virginia, and of the Methodist faith. Mr. Leslie was a Dialysis Technician with the University of Virginia Health Services.

Mr. Leslie was fascinated with solar energy, wind toys, aviation, high-tech gadgets and electronics. He enjoyed finding out what “made things work.” He also loved to play golf, travel, and watch waterfalls.

He married Patricia Ross on May 31, 2003, in Weyers Cave, Virginia.

Surviving with his wife are three children from a previous marriage – daughters, Carissa Coffman of Verona, Virginia, Amanda Chittum of Buffalo Gap, Virginia and son, S. Dale Leslie, Jr. of Staunton, Virginia; ten grandchildren; nieces, Emily Schneider, Julia Schneider and nephew, William Schneider all of Stephens City, Virginia.

Memorial Services will be planned for a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

Steve will be greatly missed by many. He was a good guy that would do anything for anyone. He was a man of faith that loved his family. May his family find comfort and peace in knowing that has gone to be with his Jesus now.

Time flies so quickly, I just had met with Steve 2 months ago at my office. He used to stop by and shoot the breeze with me on occasion. Of course we talked about work(dialysis) and technology as we both enjoyed it , but honestly he was better with it than me. Most recently we had talked about God and the afterlife, after someone I knew passed suddenly. We both agreed , you never know how long you've got, so you should do your best every day. I have worked with Steve for 15 years as a contractor to UVA. I know he did his best. i just can't believe he is gone so quick. My prayers are with his wife , kids and family. He will be missed by all, but I think Steve is doing fine, he's probably fixing something up there. Brian

Now that I know where you are Steven Dale I'll be up there Sunday to pray over you and have at last peice of mind knowing where you are Resting In Peace with Our Lord.
