Steven “Breeze” Floyd, 67, of Keedysville, Maryland passed away Monday, July 2, 2018, at his home.
Mr. Floyd was born in 1950 in Arlington, Virginia, the son of the late Dennis and Margaret Floyd. He attended Manassas Park High School and was a truck driver for TDS (Total Development Solutions, Inc.) from where he retired, located in Gainesville, Virginia, and various other trucking companies throughout his 50+ years of employment. Steven enjoyed NASCAR and drag racing, John Force being his favorite dragster. He loved music and dancing, even appeared on American Band Stand in the ‘60s. Steven always kept a great sense of humor and a sweet tooth. He was always willing to help anyone, always provided for his family, and was a loving, compassionate man. A loyal and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather that will be sorely missed.
Mr. Floyd married Mary Floyd on September 27, 2008 in Gainesville, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife are daughters, Michelle Staples of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Lisa Murphy (Rob) of Keedysville, Maryland; sons, Steven Floyd of Gaylord, Michigan and Malcolm Floyd (Michelle) of Front Royal, Virginia; fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Richard, Wayne, Michael, and Bobby Floyd.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Omps, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Omps, South Chapel, 1260 Front Royal Pike, Winchester, Virginia with Pastor Larry Nelson officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family request that everyone dress casually for the visitation and service.
