Steven A. Barton

Steven Allen Barton, 54, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Thursday, April 28, 2011, in Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center.

Mr. Barton was born in 1956, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Lawrence Boyce and Gale Harris. He was a waiter and server in the Winchester area. Mr. Barton was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1975.

Surviving are eight sisters, Helen McFarland, Jane Estes, Bonnie Clark, Debbie McFarland, Gloria Jenkins, Betty Kerns, Sarah Ramey and Patsy Braithwaite; a brother, Paul Boyce and his aunt, Janet Green.

His adopted mother, who raised him on her own from the age of 18 months, Twilby Ellen Boyce; and two sisters, Alice Plum and Mary Hillyard preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Omps Funeral Home, to help with service expenses.
