Steve and I have been friends for years. He is a true patriot and loved living in Frederick Co. He was always ready and willing to help no matter what the task. When we would get together he always brought me a gift. No matter what the gift, I treasured them all. We had great times sharing stories, about our lives and adventures. I will miss you Steve. Our community has lost a strong supporter and historian. As we always said, "who ever get there first has to save a place for the other guy". See you later my friend, hold that place.

I’ve known Steve since 1968, when he was a junior and I was a senior at JWHS. I identified him as ‘eccentric’. A very knowledgeable but passionately opinionated too. He was a staunch conservative and was from the ‘old school’ of being truthful, honoring your word, and standing your ground when you know you’re in the right. He helped me many times over the years and I’m very thankful to have been his friend. I pray he’s now resting in the arms of Jesus.

Sad to hear about Steve. I got to know Steve just in the past year. We shared many conversations during this time. Every time I would see Steve he would bring a gift of some kind. Even gifts for my kids. Just how he was. Conversations would go on for well over an hour each time we met. I'll miss those conversations. Steve was friends with the late Colonel James "Jim" Longerbeam who was a mentor to me growing up. He would share personal stories of Jim I never heard before and I much appreciated that. Like Jim, Steve came from a generation of men we need in this world today. He loved his country, his lady, his cats and his farm. He will be missed.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Steven Chadwell. I always enjoyed our conversations at Italian Touch in Middletown—especially the long one we had just a few weeks ago. Steve’s passion for politics and his love for cats made him such a unique and memorable person. He had a way of making every conversation interesting, and I’ll truly miss those talks.
