Stephen Robin Poe, 55, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, died Friday, December 14, 2012, at his home.

Steve was born in 1957, in Fairmont, West Virginia, the son of Nancy Jane Poe and the late Alvin Stephen Poe. He was a graduate of James Wood High School in Frederick County, Virginia. Steve was a carpenter/builder and enjoyed woodworking.

Surviving with his mother are two sons, Stephen Shane Poe and GySgt. Zane Jacob Poe (USMC); six grandchildren, Tristen Stephen Poe, Danielle Mildred Poe, Cadence Poe, Jacob Poe, Miley Poe and Kane Poe.

His son, Justin Lee Poe and sister, Deborah Poe, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, Virginia, 22601.

My nephew "Bunny" was my first nephew at age 10. Losing him is one of my life's greatest sorrows. He has left this family with two of the finest young men I have ever met...Shane Poe and Zane Poe. My love and condolences to his Mother, my Sister.

You are correct. He was my very first nephew (I was an aunt at 10 yrs of age), and losing him is one of my life's greatest sorrows. My consolation is that he has left this family with wonderful children and grandchildren. Thank you for posting your kind comment.
